Remembering Prof. Graham Richards, Founding Chair of OMass Therapeutics

It is with heavy hearts that we remember our dear friend Prof. Graham Richards, a colleague, mentor and the first Chair of OMass, who passed away on Tuesday, February 11th 2025. Graham was an influential academic and early advocate for translating research into enterprises where he believed it could impact wider society. Although these transitions can be daunting for early founders, his endless optimism and encouragement were a defining force for the foundation of OMass. His belief in what we could achieve gave us the confidence to be ambitious and walk a path far beyond our original ideas. He was deeply humble and altruistic, always supporting the course of action that was essential to the success of the company. OMass has matured as a company, but those early roots and influences from Graham still form the foundations of work at OMass. We also reflect on the huge influence Graham had on the opportunities of the team, their families and one day very soon, the patients whose lives are forever improved by our medicines.

All this from the selfless acts of such a kind person. Our thoughts are with his family and loving wife Mary.

A tribute from Brasenose College, Oxford University can be found here.
